Windscreen wipers

I have recently received my i4 , I’ve noticed when using function to spray the screen wash, it does not spray onto the windows , it pools in front of the blade which then pushes the screen wash onto the window. Is the way it is supposed to work? Thought I would check on here before I phone the garage and sound like an idiot.
